SUBSTANCE: laminate composition material includes superabrasive containing substrate block having ceramic material and metallic material or several metallic materials. Block containing superabrasive is arranged near substrate block and joined with it; superabrasive-containing block includes superabrasive particles in quantity no less than 25% and no more than 95% vol. of its whole mass and metallic ingredient dispersed in superabrasive-containing layer and in its working surface and inside substrate. Concentration of said metallic ingredient increases or decreases from level of working surface smoothly and(or) step-by-step. Method for making composition material comprises steps of placing first mixture including superabrasive particles and pulverized metal near second mixture prepared in such a way that it may be subjected to self-propagating high-temperature synthesis for making ceramic matter; initiating process of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis in second mixture in order to create such heat quantity that metal of first mixture melts at least partially and penetrates into second mixture providing concentration gradient of melt metal in both mixtures at simultaneous application of pressure.
