FIELD: devices for cleaning hydrocarbon liquids, mainly fuels from free (undissolved) water and mechanical impurities; aviation, railway, automobile and water transport; oil refining industries and other industries. SUBSTANCE: filter-separator includes horizontal housing divided by vertical partition rigidly connected with cover where inlet and outlet branch pipes are fitted. Secured in lower part of partition in parallel with horizontal axis of housing are filtering coagulating element; separating elements are located in upper part. Lower generatrix of separating elements is located at distance B=0.15-0.22 (1) of diameter of filter- separator housing from upper generatrix of filtering coagulating element. Diameter (d_s.e) and length (l_s.e) of each separating element is found from the following relationship: d_s.e = (0,2...0,4)D, l_s.e = (0,9...1,3)D.
