FIELD: examination of lubricating oils, specifically, evaluation of energy- saving properties of motor oils, development of new motor oils with evaluation of their energy-saving properties, selection of oil for engine. SUBSTANCE: method of evaluation of energy-saving properties of motor oils is realized on vibration friction gauge SRV with friction pair " ring-plane ", friction coefficient Kf.c1 of first oil with load of 50±1 N on friction pair, temperature of friction pair 80±1° C, amplitude and frequency of movement of friction pair 1,5±0,1 mm and 50±1 Hz correspondingly is measured. Then friction coefficient Kf.c2 of second oil is measured under identical conditions. Energy-saving properties of second oil are evaluated by dependence obtained experimentally. EFFECT: raised informativity of method thanks to possibility of quantitative evaluation of energy-saving properties of motor oils. 2 dwg, 3 tbl
