FIELD: automotive industry; road vehicles. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for protection of driver from sun rays and bright light in motion and at parkings. Cavity is made in visor frame and detent and brake unit is located in cavity which is made in form of combination blind hole whose upper part is cylindrical and lower part is made in form of right-angle prism. Visor turning axle is fitted in cylindrical part, and detent and brake unit is installed in prismatic part. Detent and brake unit is made in form of spring unit and two supports of which lower one is fixed and upper one is movable. Upper support gets into lower support, and lower support is installed on gasket. Two flats are made on visor turning axle at angle α relative to each other on length not exceeding length of right-angle prism. Cavity is closed by cover. EFFECT: provision of convenient, reliable and durable injury-safe sun visor easy to manufacture and suitable for operation at any turning angle and with two fixed positions, minimum. 4 cl, 6 dwg
