FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of silicates, namely to insulating enamels, and designated for insulating covering steel backings, in part, ozone generator electrodes. Invention provides preparing insulating enamel of the following composition, wt.-%: SiO2, 25-35; B2O3, 3-7; CaO, 4-7; SrO, 3-8; CoO, 0.5-1; CdO, 4.5-6; NiO, 0.5-1; MnO, 0.2-1; Na2O, 1-4; K2O, 3-5; Cr2O3, 0.5-1; MoO3, 0.5-1; BaO, the balance. Invention provides the improvement of dielectric and covering properties: temperature coefficient of linear expansion = (135-154) x 10-7 1/C, dielectric permittivity ε = 10-13; tangent angle of dielectric loss tgδ = (2.7-4.1) x 10-3, enamel roasting temperature is 700-720 C. EFFECT: improved properties of enamel. 2 tbl
