FIELD: drying of capillary-porous bodies. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing layer heat supply over entire area of material to be dried by means of double-sided radiant heaters; regulating extent of migration of moisture vapors from interlayer channels by changing heater opening section; providing layer temperature regulation by changing-over of heater supply power circuits and by changing heater voltage and current values. Heating apparatus is made in the form of frame 1 inside which heating members are fixed by means of tightening devices 2. Heating members are formed as perforated strips 3 fixed inside frame 1 by isolating planks 4 so that strips 3 are arranged in middle part of frame height. Frame longitudinal members are equipped with overlapped openings. Method and apparatus provide for uniform regulated radiant heating of material over entire drying area and regulated extent of moisture vapor migration in interlayer channels. Method and apparatus may be used for drying wood, including valuable tree wood, as well as for drying wet food products, medicinal and biological preparations.
