METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR STORING GRASS GREEN MASS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has cooling device and thermal insulator with body and cover. Two containers are located one inside another within thermal insulator body. Grass mass is placed inside internal container and fixed with grid. Internal container is fixed in overturned state inside external container in spaced relation to inner surface thereof. Cooling device contains coolant, which fills space between internal and external container to the level not higher than grass retaining grid. Method involves laying green mass into container while subjecting it to compacting pressure of 10-12 kg/sq.cm; cooling to temperature of 0.5-2.5 C; maintaining storage temperature within said range during the whole storage time under hermetically sealed conditions. EFFECT: increased efficiency by keeping nutritive value and physicochemical composition of stored green grass mass. 3 cl, 4 dwg
