FIELD: pipe line fittings; disconnecting units with shut-off members sliding along surface of seat; oil producing industry. SUBSTANCE: wedge gate valve has body with central and straight-way holes. Each straight-way hole has bead and mounting opening. Seat is received by mounting opening. Outer surface of seat is stepped in form. Solid wedge is located in central hole between two seats. Wedge is connected with spindle. Bead of body on side of mounting opening is stepped. Outer edges of circular steps are made in line located at angle which is congruent relative to angle of inclination of step of outer surface of seat. Spindle is mounted in central hole coaxially and movable. Method of sealing-up the wedge gate valve includes mounting the wedge between seats located in body. Solid wedge is lapped with seats before mounting them in body. Stepped projection of body bead is cut in taper butt of outer projection of seat and seats are secured relative to body.
