FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: gate valve contains a hollow body with connecting flanges, inside it a lock element is installed, it comprises solid wedge made with possibility of axial movement along the vertical axis of the gate valve, and seats installed at both sides of the wedge and interacting with its work surface by their counter surfaces. The internal surface of the input and output branches is made profiled, containing one shoulder and one ring groove, and said seats are located and secured on the said ring shoulders. The ring shoulders are made by surfaces of the half-rings installed in the ring grooves, made on the internal wall of the input and output branches. The seats are locked on the ring shoulders made by surfaces of the half-rings, using nuts installed at seat sides opposite to the work surfaces.
