FIELD: rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: process involves introducing chlorine or bromine into butyl rubber solution in inert solvent and mixing halogen with continuous flow of this solution to dissolve halogen and to allow interaction of halogen with butyl rubber during turbulent movement of solution followed by separation of gas- liquid flow and neutralization. Gas flow, prior to be neutralized, is additionally brought into interaction with initial butyl rubber solution.
