FIELD: rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: process of production of halogenated butyl rubber in organic solvent involves double-step treatment of butyl rubber solution with halogenation agent followed by neutralization, washing of halogenation polymer solution, water degassing, and drying of product. In the first step, halogenation agent is chlorine or bromine, which remained unreacted in the second step. Gas flow formed after separation of gas-liquid reaction mixture issuing from the second step is directed into the first step. Treatment of butyl rubber solution is performed before conversion of double bonds in initial butyl rubber attains no more than 50% in the first step and 80 to 100% in the second step. EFFECT: intensified process with no loss in smoothness of variation of molecular characteristics of polymer on halogenation. 1 dwg, 4 ex
