FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: butyl rubber is obtained from copolymerisation of isobutylene with isoprene in the presence of a catalyst in a diluent medium with subsequent deactivation and extraction of butyl rubber from its dispersion in the diluent through water degasification. Butyl rubber is dissolved in an inert solvent, halogenated in the solution, washed and neutralised, degassed and dried. Wet butyl rubber powder is used for dissolution with pre-replacement of transport water for production of butyl rubber to transport water for production of halobutyl rubber. Replacement of transport water is done by pre-concentration of wet butyl rubber powder with extraction transport water for production of butyl rubber with subsequent dilution of concentrated butyl rubber crumbs with transport water for production of halobutyl rubber.
EFFECT: improved quality of halogenated butyl rubber and reduction of energy and capital expenses.
