METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COLD BITUMEN-POLYMER MASTICS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: mastic suitable for roof coatings, tightening of seams and butt joints in antifiltration facing of channels is prepared by consecutively loading components in the form of bitumen particles up to 100 mm, filler, polymer additive (chlorosulfurized polyethylene varnish), and organic solvent into screw apparatus followed by stirring to obtain homogeneous mastic. These operations are performed with the aid of driven perforated disk with rotation speed 10-20 s^-1 and compression mechanism with moving element step within 500-600 mm range. According to invention, bitumen and organic solvent are first loaded into apparatus and stirred for 2.5-3.0 min to homogenization, after which is added filler and resulting mixture is homogenized for further 1.0-1.5 min and cooled to 40 C. Thus obtained mastic is finally supplemented by polymer additive, stirred for 0.5-1.0 min, and transferred into sealed container. EFFECT: extended application area. 1 tbl
