FIELD: mining; applicable in underground mining of minerals. SUBSTANCE: method includes division of bed into layers which are successively worked downward; driving of district development workings and mounting rooms outlining mineral pillars; pillar extraction by long-face mining with full caving of roof in worked-out space. Mounting rooms for faces of above-worked layer are driven under worked-out space at distance from faces of overlying layer exceeding step of the first main roof caving in worked-out space of faces of overlying layer. Stoping operations in faces of above-worked layer are discontinued when these faces approach the line of stopping of faces of overlying layer at distance exceeding width of low rock pressure zone occurring in worked-out space at boundaries of mineral mass.
