AUTOMATED PLANT FOR ULTRASONIC TEST OF ARTICLES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: check of jacket for fit to core of fuel element of nuclear reactor. SUBSTANCE: proposed automated plant includes acoustic bath which carries acoustic converter to test article along generating line and mechanism of longitudinal travel of acoustic converter coming in the form of carriage, mechanism of rotation of articles, sensors of presence of articles, device for transportation of articles, feeder, hoppers of good and rejected articles, control and measurement system. In addition plant is fitted with acoustic converters testing butts of articles, with mechanism of butt displacement of acoustic converters made in the form of carriage, sensor of geometric center of article put on acoustic bath and controlling acoustic converters testing butts of articles and stepping motors for movement of carriages. Device for transportation of articles comes in the form of two-arm robot which gripper carries fixture that is roller rotating freely. Acoustic converters testing butts of articles are mounted for movement: one converter moves from edge of butt to center and the other converter moves from center to edge of butt. Acoustic converter to test article along generating line is employed in the capacity of sensor of presence of article on position of test.
