FIELD: instrumentation. SUBSTANCE: gear is designed to test lack of fit of jacket to core in fuel element for nuclear reactor. Increased efficiency of inspection is achieved thanks to inclusion of immersion bath into mix of gear for ultrasonic inspection of cylindrical articles. Drive and bearing shafts for rotation of articles are positioned in bath, carriage with acoustic converter is located above bath, article transportation means, feeders and article storing device, measuring and recording system are components of gear which is supplemented with additional bearing shaft and second acoustic converter put on carriage. Article transportation means comes in the form of robot which gripping unit is equipped with gripper in the form of two jaws of different length installed in parallel and with mechanism for adjustment to various types and sizes made in the form of adjustable rests of jaw displacement. One jaw has two fingers and is fitted with sensor of article presence, the other jaw is straight-line jaw. EFFECT: increased efficiency of ultrasonic inspection. 2 dwg
