FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves attaching costume to patient's body by means of retaining members and filling 1/2-4/5 of costume internal cavity with liquid medium having high density factor and remaining part of cavity with liquid or gaseous medium having lower density factor at total pressure of 50-90 mm of mercury column inside costume to provide for creation of flexible "costume-patient" system; setting by patient or by doctor basic "sitting, standing, hands and knees, recumbent" positions by swinging "patient-costume" system till transition to following position and creating involuntary balance of system flexible forces oriented in different directions resulting in fixation of patient's stable new position. Apparatus has costume formed as flexible pipe located in casing equipped with resilient tie-rods. Costume is attached to patient's body by means of retaining members with clips-regulators and connected to compressor. Pipe is made conical, with variable inner section decreasing to distal parts of limbs and head end. Method and apparatus are used for rehabilitation of paralytic people, including those affected with tetraplegia, and allows paralytic people to change body and limbs position in space while stability being kept. EFFECT: simplified method and apparatus and increased efficiency. 3 cl, 9 dwg
