FIELD: plastic metal working, namely making gauze products in metallurgical, machine engineering and building plants. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making semifinished product of wholly metallic gauze in cut-through apparatus in the form of blank cut-through with constant pitch; coiling semifinished product; transporting coiled product to tensioning apparatus ( to place of using it) and tensioning semifinished product in lengthwise motion due to mutually opposite rotation of hook systems in plane normal relative to plane of cut through blank; placing hook systems one opposite to another; arranging separate hooks of each system along circle having the same radius relative to rotation axis of respective hook with predetermined circumferential pitch; vertically orienting edge stripes of cut-through blank until their contact with hooks; at making wholly-metallic gauze from initial belt with thickness less than 0.25 mm, inclining edge stripes before their contact with hooks relative to vertical axis towards plane of tensioned cut-through blank by predetermined angle; providing edge stripes with predetermined width and bridges joining them with predetermined length. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process due to continuously tensioning coiled cut- through blank, enlarged using range, reduced metal consumption and cost of wholly metallic gauze. 3 cl, 9 dwg
