FIELD: metallurgy, namely metal continuous casting processes. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of mounting mold onto leaf springs and driving it to rocking motion with predetermined amplitude and frequency values in direction of casting process. In order to provide high reliability of forming continuously cast billet in mold due to highly accurate reproducing of theoretical motion path of mold at rocking cycle, mold is mounted onto leaf springs being in neutral position without static sagging and it is driven to rocking motion relative to said position. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of process of forming continuously cast billet. 1 dwg
