FIELD: continuous casting of metals and alloys, possibly machines for continuous casting of blooms and merchant billets. SUBSTANCE: rocking mechanism includes supporting frame; elastic flat guides secured to frame, arranged at two mutually opposite sides of mold crosswise relative to casting direction and spaced by height; rocking table mounted in said guides; hydraulic cylinder mounted at third side of mold symmetrically relative to guides along casting direction, rigidly joined with supporting frame and joined with rocking table by means of piston rod. Rocking table is provided in addition with elastic flat guides also secured to supporting frame; said guides are arranged at side of hydraulic cylinder relative to mold or at opposite side crosswise relative to casting direction and they are spaced by height. Mechanism provides identity of path of mold motion at each rocking cycle. EFFECT: enhanced quality of surface of cast ingots, lowered wear of working walls of mold. 3 dwg
