FIELD: ferrous metallurgy and foundry; deep desulfurization and inoculation of pig iron in ladles. SUBSTANCE: flux-cored wire consists of metal shell and filler from powdery alloy of iron-silicon-magnesium system with magnesium content of 16-35%. In structure of hard alloy, at least, 50 % of magnesium is concentrated in form of magnesium silicide inclusions sizing within 0.05 mm. Alloy of iron-silicon- magnesium system additionally contains calcium, aluminum, barium, titanium and rare-earth metals in amount of 2-10%. EFFECT: high degree of magnesium used for pig iron desulfurization with high content of magnesium in alloy, materially reduced expenditures for reagent and total cost of deep desulfurization of pig iron in ladles. 2 cl, 1 tbl
