FIELD: metallurgy; applicable in desulfurization of pig iron with magnesium in ladles. SUBSTANCE: flux-cored wire consists of metal shell and filler from powdery alloy of iron-magnesium-aluminum with content of magnesium of 7-15%. Composition of wire filler additionally contains metal aluminum in amount of 1.6- 15%. Use of flux-cored wire makes it possible to increase pig iron desulfurization with preserved low level of dust content in effluent gases. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 cl, 1 tbl
