FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; off-furnace treatment of cast iron by powder-like reagents.
SUBSTANCE: powder wire has metal envelope and filler made from mechanical mixture of magnesium and passivating additive powders at the following ratio, mass-%: magnesium, 20-45; staurolite concentrate, 55-80. Ratio of content of magnesium in filler and content of filler in wire is equal to (0.3-1.5): 1.
EFFECT: increased degree of usage of magnesium for desulfurization; reduced consumption of wire.
