FIELD: sealing the reciprocating rods in high-pressure water cylinders. SUBSTANCE: proposed seal has cylinder and rod with fixed guides mounted in clearance between cylinder and rod; circular holder stack is located between guides. Holders are provided with chambers where sealing tightly engageable with rod are located. Holder chambers are interconnected by means of bypass holes which also bring them in communication with outside medium. At least first (on side of working pressure of liquid) sealing member includes continuous twisted chaotically interwoven wire made from high-enthalpic metal.
