FIELD: electron beam accelerators; microwave electron cyclotrons. SUBSTANCE: electron cyclotron has electromagnet, vacuum chamber accommodating explosion-emissive cathode in the form of electron- permeable metal foil or metal mesh, cylindrical accelerating cavity with end walls mounting electron- permeable diaphragms also in the form of flat electron-permeable metal foil or metal mesh, as well as beam receiver and high-voltage pulsed power supply connected to cathode. Vacuum chamber accommodates at least one conducting screen placed at cavity potential and made in the form of electronpermeable metal foil or metal mesh around cathode shaped as cylindrical surface section; it also holds cavity. EFFECT: reduced adverse effect of inherent electric field of beam in drift area which prevents electron acceleration failure. 1 cl, 1 dwg
