METHOD OF TREATMENT OF CIRCULATION WATER Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: methods of multi-stage treatment of water by ozonization, ultra-violet radiation and introduction of chemical reagents; decontamination of circulating water in swimming pools. SUBSTANCE: method includes first stage of mechanical filtration, second stage - ozonization, third stage - disinfection of ultra-violet radiation and fourth stage-conditioning by introducing copper or silver ions from solutions of their salts; the following procedure should be followed for treatment of water in circulating mode ensuring complete circulation of water for 8 hours: at first stage ozone is introduced at concentration of 0.5 mg/l; disinfection is performed by pulse ultra-violet radiation of continuous spectrum by passing water through reactor at rate of 0.2 to 0.8 cu.m/h; said reactor is provided with xenon lams mainly generating ultra-violet radiation at wave length of 200 to 400 nm, frequency of 1 to 1.3 Hz, specific power requirements of 2 to 5 kJ/cu.m and flux density of 2 to 7 kW/sq.m, after which conditioning is carried out by introducing copper and silver ions every three hours to obtain concentration of 0.1 and 0.001 mg/l, respectively. EFFECT: extended functional capabilities; enhanced operational reliability under conditions of increased content of pathogenic bacteria, viruses and fungi. 1 tbl
