METHOD AND DEVICE FOR OPERATIVE CHECKING OF CONCENTRATION OF GASEOUS PHASE OF UNDISSOLVED GAS IN LIQUID FLOW Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2188407 C1

FIELD: measuring equipment, applicable in in-process lines of various productions, in particular, in cold circuits of nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: checking is effected as follows: at a continuous and constant (in value) discharge of gas-liquid medium through a U- shaped vessel, in whose "left-hand" part accumulation of the gaseous phase in the upper part and displacement of liquid is accomplished as a result of physico-mechanical separation of phases during time t1, as a result, the liquid level drops at a certain rate directly proportional to the volume fraction of the gaseous phase in heat- transfer agent dh/dt = k*CΣext

. The level gauge monitors the variation of said level generating an analog signal in the form of a current linearly growing or dropping in time, which is applied to a preamplifier; in the preamplifier said current is amplified proportionally to coefficient K=Q/S, transduced to a linearly dropping voltage and fed to a microprocessor controller, where it is converted to a DC voltage by differentiation, said current is directly proportional to the unknown quantity of concentration, and to a numerical code; the microprocessor also generates control signals that define the duration of the measurement cycle and the cycle of preparation to measurements, which control a solenoid-operated valve via a power electronic switch; on completion of measurement time t1 the microprocessor controller generates a pulse of duration t2, the solenoid-operated valve gets open, the used liquid flows over from the "right-hand" part of the U-shaped vessel to the "left-hand" part of the U-shaped gauge according to the principle of communicating vessels, thus recovering the level of liquid in it to the original position at the same time displacing the gaseous phase from the "left-hand" part to the flow of heat-transfer agent; after the lapse of time t2 the valve gets closed, and the process of measurement automatically begins again. EFFECT: accelerated and enhanced operativeness of checking, enhanced sealing of the sample. 2 cl, 1 dwg
