FIELD: contacting identification cards having or not integrated circuits, including telephone cards, chip cards, and the like. SUBSTANCE: proposed device enables reading identification card on two sides at the same time ensuring high reliability of its locking. To this end device that has case incorporating card holder with depression forming channel for card loading and contact system for joining with card contacts is provided in addition with resetting hold-down mechanism made in the form of two flexible pins symmetrically mounted on case that carry rollers with card holder in-between. Holder is made in the form of carriage movable in direction of card motion; this mechanism has two wings mounted for setting apart perpendicular to movement; they carry contact systems forming channel for locking the card. Card user can easily identify moment of reliable card installation which reduces probability of its damage. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of card reading. 4 cl, 5 dwg
