APPARATUS FOR CLEANING CUCURBITACEOUS CROP FRUIT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: food-processing and canned food industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame, fruit charging hopper, upper and lower brush-type drive drums, thrust brush, tilt board, conveyors for transporting cleaned fruit and fruit crust, adjustable and non- adjustable supports, and drive for rotating units. Each brush-type drum is formed by hollow roll with driving and driven journals at its end. Corrugated radial blades are arranged in equally spaced relation on roll surface. Parts of multiple-strand metal cable are located in blade space. Strands of part of cable are laid in corrugations and connected to blades through pair of planks and attachment members. Braced ends of cable parts on each blade are attached at different distances from blade edges. Loop-shaped portion of each cable part is arranged in spaced relation with respect to hollow roll surface. Apparatus may be used for removing solid crust from surface of cucurbitaceous crop fruit, edible roots, potato etc. EFFECT: increased efficiency, enhanced reliability in operation and improved quality of cleaning fruit surface. 2 cl, 4 dwg
