FIELD: medicine, pharmacology, food industry. SUBSTANCE: method of the protein iodination involves protein dissolving in an alkaline medium, treatment of the prepared solution with iodine-containing substance and isolation of ready product from reaction mixture. Method involves the use of iodine-containing substance dissolved in acid and the isolation of ready product is carried out by precipitation by means of decrease of pH value of reaction mixture up to a value no exceeding an isoelectric point value of ready product. Iodine- containing substance can be dissolved both in hydrochloric acid and acetic acid. Invention can be used in the production of food supplements and for preparing medicinal preparations designated for prophylaxis of iodine insufficiency and regulation of iodine metabolism.
