FIELD: food industry, particularly, production of biologically active additives to food, and prophylactic food products containing such additives. SUBSTANCE: biologically active additive to food contains synthetic organic composition with covalently connected iodine selected from a group of carboxylic acids, unsaturated fat acids, lipids, terpenes, alkanes, terpenoids, isoprenes, peptides, polypeptides, amino acids, protein hydrolysates, polypeptide hydrolysates, vegetable proteins, animal proteins, proteins of microbiological origin and their various mixtures. Iodine is covalently connected in 5 and 3 or in 3 positions of phenol cycle in proteins, peptides, polypeptides, amino acids, polypeptide and protein hydrolysates. In this case, amino acids and proteins are selected from a group of amino acids and proteins which do not possess hormonal and thyroiodine activity, and which are prepared under conditions excluding condensation of tyrosine nuclei. Biologically active additive to food may additionally includes organic composition noncovalently connected with iodine and/or nonorganic iodine. The biologically active additive to food may have prolonged form such as tablets, powders, capsules, microcapsules, dragee, solutions or being in combination of vitamin-mineral complexes. The invention also deals with food product containing claimed biologically active additive, for example, dairy product, cultured milk product, meat product, bakery product, bread, beverage, juice, confectionery product, and infant product. The invention provides creation of biologically active additives to food and food products containing more physiological iodine-containing compositions of organic origin without hormonal activity and adequate to biochemical properties of iodine exchange. EFFECT: higher and improved prophylaxis of iodine deficiency. 19 cl, 14 ex
