FIELD: food processing industry, in particular production of biologically active food additive for iodine insufficiency prophylaxis.
SUBSTANCE: bioactive food additive contains (mass %): pectin 23.1-25.0; crystalline iodine 5.0-10.25; potassium iodide 10.0-20.5; and balance: distilled water. Method for additive production includes crystalline iodine dissolution in potassium iodide aqueous solution, pectin addition and agitation. Then distilled water is added to produce wet quick powder. Obtained mass is dried at 25-90°C. Method of present invention makes it possible to enhance assortment of food additives for iodine insufficiency prophylaxis.
EFFECT: food additive with no sensitizing action providing increased iodine absorption.
