FIELD: chemical, pharmaceutical, food-processing and other branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: mixing apparatus has housing, hollow shaft with transverse and longitudinal shafts pivotally attached thereto, and blade rotating device for rotating blades at variable frequency. Transverse blades in upper row are made double-armed and are engaged with their short ends through slots in hollow shaft to spring-loaded sleeve. Upper and lower transverse blades are mounted on shaft for rotation relative to its longitudinal axis through angle of from 10 deg to 90 deg. Apparatus is used for mixing liquids of various viscosity in said branches of industry. EFFECT: increased efficiency by reduced starting moment and decreased consumption of labor by reducing works connected with insertion of hollow shaft with blades into housing and withdrawal of shaft therefrom. 1 dwg
