FIELD: hydrodynamics; increasing running speed of ships. SUBSTANCE: ship's bow has shields mounted on either side below waterline. Front portion of shields is parallel to direction of ship's motion lower and upper horizontal edges of shields are connected with ship's skin by means of plates. Passages thus formed have hydrodynamic shape in longitudinal direction along shields and fore skin of ship. Angle between chord of surface of fore hydrodynamic skin and CL of ship shall be no less than 35 deg. EFFECT: increased thrust of ship with no increase in power of power plants or reduced power (fuel saving) at rated speed. 2 dwg
