SUBSTANCE: method and system are designed to reduce power requirement of mobile terminal that has receiver for time-division multiplexed message distributed among plurality of time intervals by receiving first subset out of plurality of time intervals so as to receive first part of time-division multiplexed message corresponding to first subset out of plurality of time intervals. Then mobile terminal finds out from first part of time-division multiplexed message if this mobile terminal has to receive additional time intervals of time-division multiplexed message. Mobile terminal receives second subset out of plurality of time intervals in case mobile terminal has found out from first part that this mobile terminal has to receive additional parts of time-division multiplexed message. This first part of message is decoded preferably independently of remaining part of message. EFFECT: enhanced energy saving in mobile terminal. 21 cl, 12 dwg
