FIELD: medicine, in particular, prosthesis. SUBSTANCE: method involves creating anatomical model negative; filling negative with model material in the form of thermoplastic composition at pasty state temperature; cooling model material; withdrawing positive formed from negative after hardening of model material. For charging model material into model negative, flexible hermetically sealed vessel is provided, which is communicated with device for supplying working fluid under pressure and into which working fluid is supplied immediately after filling during the entire model material hardening process. Apparatus has melting chamber arranged in front of model material filling device, negative accommodating vessel, negative, insert having hermetically sealed cavity defined by internal walls and outer surface of pipe positioned axially of its vertical shaft and located in negative. Hermetically sealed cavity of insert and free volume of vessel between its internal surface and negative outer surface are communicated with heat-carrier supply device. Layer of flexible porous air-permeable material is placed onto insert external surface and flexible air-impermeable casing is put onto said layer in sealing relation to insert external surface, higher than model material filling level. Upper end of insert pipe is connected to working fluid supply device and lower end is communicated to volume defined by flexible air-impermeable casing.
