FIELD: machine engineering, namely finishing surfaces of revolution such as rolling tracks of roller bearing races. SUBSTANCE: machine tool includes housing in which are arranged: stock of article with spindle, device for basing races in the form of mandrel and apparatus for finishing. The last has foundation, tool holder, drive unit for variable-sign motions and mechanism for reciprocation motion of tool. In body of article stock there are radial hydrostatic supports for centering spindle having in front end above mentioned device for basing races. Machine tool is provided with head for compensating wear of tool. Said head is mounted on vibrator with possibility of taking off initial gap between tool and article. Mechanism for reciprocation motion of tool is in the form of hydraulic cylinder, ratchet transmission, reduction gear and vibrator. Tool holder has movable clamps mounted on screw with possibility of synchronous mutual approaching or drawing apart. EFFECT: improved design of machine tool providing enhanced accuracy of geometry of worked surface due to basing of parts, improved mechanism for moving tool and securing it. 3 cl, 8 dwg
