FIELD: electrical engineering, electric motor drives to start internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to method of electric starting of internal combustion engine with two D C separately-excited electric motors kinematically intercoupled and coupled to load via differential. Method consists in setting of excitation currents of electric motors equal in value, in connection of these electric motors to power supply source provided that speeds of shafts of electric motors rotating in opposition are equal to zero across output of mechanical differential, in rise of excitation current of first electric motor to value corresponding to saturation of its magnetic system, in change of excitation current of second electric motor to opposite current of value corresponding to saturation of its magnetic system, in accumulation of energy by installation of flywheel on shaft of first electric motor, in change of excitation current of second electric motor to opposite current and in such adjustment of excitation current of first electric motor that change of angular speed of rotation of shaft of internal combustion engine according to specified law is provided.
