FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding, namely to devices for restoring worn-out flat surfaces of articles by welding. Base platform of device has carrying plate installed for movement in horizontal guides and arranged perpendicularly to horizontal guides. Drive mechanism of base plate reciprocation motion is made in form of rod. Roller secured on free end of rod engages with drive cam secured on output shaft of electric drive. Shape of drive cam is formed by two symmetrical lengths of Archimedean spiral connected along line passing through initial point of Archimedean spiral.
