FIELD: manufacture of electrical steel sheet with oriented structure. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating steel slab until temperature lower than that of dissolution of manganese sulfides but higher than temperature of dissolution of copper sulfides; then subjecting slab to hot rolling at initial temperature equal at least to 960 C and at final temperature in range (800-1000)C until final thickness of hot rolled strip in range (1.5-7) mm; annealing hot rolled strip for (100-600) s at temperature (880-1150)C and cooling it at rate more than 15 K/s; cold rolling strip by one or several passes for expanding it; subjecting strip to recrystallization annealing at simultaneous decarbonization; applying release composition onto it; subjecting it to high-temperature annealing and to finish annealing after applying isolating layer. Novelty is heating of cold rolled strip for subjecting it to high-temperature annealing in atmosphere containing less than 25 vol. % of hydrogen, the balance - nitrogen and(or) noble gas until achieving soaking temperature.
