FIELD: electrical engineering; erection of overhead power transmission lines. SUBSTANCE: layer of steel wires preformed in spirals whose diameter is smaller by 1 to 1.5 mm than conductor diameter is proposed to be wrapped on conductor to build up primary frictional force between surfaces of spiral wires and line conductor. Frictional force between surfaces of spiral wires and conductor is increased upon installation of suspension clamp and during suspension of conductor from supporting structure of line with the result that greatest part of force acting on conductor in line span near suspension clamp is taken by steel wire spirals. Such measure provides for reducing static tensile force on conductor at its exit from suspension clamp to ≤13%. EFFECT: enhanced tensile strength of line conductor at its exit from suspension clamp. 2 dwg
