FIELD: power engineering; repairing overhead power transmission line conductors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method is used for repairing damaged conductors on intermediate spans of overhead power transmission lines. Conducting spirals 3 are first wound on intermediate section of conductor 1, then two spiral locking protectors 5, each measuring at least three pitches of its constituting spirals in length, are mounted after installation of supporting-clamp 2 trough 4 on both ends of the latter. In case of 100% damage to conducting strands of conductor 1 or open circuit in the latter connector of steel spirals is first mounted on damaged section and then all process operations are sequentially conducted in compliance with proposed method.
EFFECT: reduced cost, ability of on-line repairs of conductors within supporting-clamp troughs in Intermediate spans of overhead power transmission lines.
