FIELD: polymers, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to specific polymeric matrices poly-(ethylenecarbonates), a method of their synthesis and pharmaceutical compositions based on thereof designated for treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases. Poly-(ethylenecarbonate) is able to a biological decomposition and it comprises links of the formula -(C(O)-O-CH2-CH2-O-)- taken in the amount from 70 to 100 mole %, it has an internal viscosity value 0.4-4.0 dl/g measured in chloroform at 20 C and concentration 1 g/dl and vitrification point 15-50 C. Polymer is synthesized by polymerization of ethylene oxide and carbon dioxide in their mole ratio from 1:4 to 1:5 at 10-80 C in the presence of a catalyst synthesized by reaction of diethylzinc and a solvent taken among the group: water, acetone, diol, di- or triphenol. A pharmaceutical composition comprises poly-(ethylenecarbonate) and a pharmaceutically active compound. Polymer shows nonhydrolytic surface erosion in vivo, it is stable for some hours in hot water without significant decrease of molecular mass. Pharmacological compositions can be used for treatment of chronic inflammatory states caused by pathogens, demyelinizing diseases and acute inflammatory states. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis, valuable medicinal properties. 25 cl, 13 dwg, 7 tbl
