FIELD: chemistry, biochemistry, immunochemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves treatment of polysaccharide from duck's-meat Lemna minor with a trifluoroacetic acid solution in concentration 0.01-0.02 mole/l at temperature 70-100 C for 1-4 h, precipitation of polysaccharide from solution with 96% ethyl alcohol and removal of precipitated deposit by centrifugation. The end product is isolated by concentration, supernatant drying by evaporation with methanol under vacuum at temperature 40 C. Treatment of polysaccharide with a trifluoroacetic acid solution is carried out in the ratio of mass of the parent polysaccharide and a solvent volume = (1-3) : (100-400). The precipitation of polysaccharide from a solution with ethyl alcohol is carried out in the ratio solution : alcohol = 1: (3-4), respectively. Method ensures to isolate D-apiose in an individual state with a specific rotation value [α]
