SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture. The method includes treatment of seeds and/or vegetative plants prior to sowing with a biologically active substance. The biologically active substance is a 0.00002 - 0.2% water solution of pectin, extracted from little duckweed Lemna minor L., or tench weed of floating Potamogeton natans L., or cowberry Comarum palustre L., or callus tissue of clammy campion Silene vulgaris (Moench) Garcke.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase germination and speed of seeds growth, growth of roots and germs, vegetative growth and crop capacity, to increase vitality of plants and to reduce times of vegetation.
