FIELD: electrothermics. SUBSTANCE: electric arc steel-melting DC furnace has arch, two arch electrodes as minimum installed over circumference of electrode disintegration, body, discharging chute, bath with at least one electrode located in bottom of bath and working window. Center of circumference on which electrodes are positioned is displaced with reference to vertical symmetry axis of furnace in horizontal plane by distance 1 = (0,1-0,5)dd, where dd is diameter of electrode disintegration. EFFECT: improved operational characteristics of furnace thanks to diminished variation of network voltage, reduced level of noise, dust and gas effluent, decreased melting time and electricity consumption. 10 dwg
