FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for melting steel in arc steel melting furnace of three-phase current consists in melting scrap and in metallised pellets successive supply and melting. Metal pellets are supplied and melted when consumption of electric power reaches 220-230 KWth/t and temperature of bath is 1615-1625°C.
EFFECT: reduced specific consumption of electric power at reduced duration of melt, raised efficiency.
