FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of steel in arc steel furnaces of three-phase current of molding shops. Fine charge with sizes up to 200×150×100 mm, which fills formed voids between charge pieces, note here that during melting, electric arcs cut a well in fine charge so that 92–95 % of thermal radiation of electric arcs gets on fine charge until its complete melting in furnace working space by the end of said period.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase efficiency of arcs, to reduce specific consumption of electric power and time of melting with simultaneous increase of productivity.
