FIELD: radio engineering, optical communication. SUBSTANCE: wave length multiplexer is employed for communication between assemblage of input optical sources with different lengths of waves which are multiplexed in single polychromatic beam with one output receiving unit. Device has aid to receive optic input signal from one optical source, as minimum, includes flat surface, combining element integrating collimator lens with axial gradient refractive index and flat surface on which optical input signal falls and lens of initial load with homogeneous index attached to collimator lens with axial gradient refractive index and flat but inclined output surface, diffraction grating located on inclined surface of lens of initial load with homogeneous index that combines assemblage of wave lengths from optical source spatially separated and aid with flat surface for output of at least one multiplexed polychromatic output beam. Device can function in forward and backward directions as multiplexer or demultiplexer. EFFECT: device ensures reduction of cross interference between channels, reduced loss in channels and cost, raised reliability and temperature stability. 31 cl, 8 dwg
