FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying impedance measurements. Probe is introduced into the stomach. Intragastric acidity during basal secretion phase is examined. When done, the probe is removed from the stomach and set in the esophagus. Intraesophageal impedance is measured in eight zones all the esophagus length long and time within which the impedance value does not exceed 100 Ohm is determined. Reflux aggressiveness is determined taking into account intragastric acidity, local esophageal clearance and reflux height. Reflux aggressiveness value being greater than 10%, pathological gastroesophageal reflux is to be diagnosed. Local esophageal clearance value being less than 10%, local esophageal clearance disorder is to be diagnosed. EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis. 1 dwg 20 tbl
